Study Visas Required to Study in Australia

Students who are selected to study in a foundation degree, bachelor degree, master degree or doctorate degree are required to get an Australian Higher Education student Visa. Following are visa types required to study in Australia:

Higher Education Sector Visa (subclass 573): 升學中心 

This visa allows you to stay in Australia to study a full-time higher education course. You should be accepted by an educational institution in a registered course for the award of a bachelor or associate degree, a graduate certificate or graduate certificate or diploma.

Postgraduate research Sector Visa (subclass 574):

An applicant is able to get this visa if he or she is enrolled as a student in a registered course for the award of a master’s degree by research or a doctoral degree. Before you apply for this visa, you must have applied for or have been accepted to study full-time at an educational institution in Australia.

Non Award Sector Visa (subclass 575):

This visa allows you to stay in Australia to study a full-time non-award foundation studies course. You may be able to get this visa if you are enrolled as a student in a registered course that does not lead to an award.

Student Guardian Visa (subclass 580):

The student guardian visa (subclass 580) is a temporary visa for a person who needs to come to Australia to provide care and support for a student visa holder who is younger than 18 years of age. There can only be one student visa holder at any given time.
